Armenia opens new case against Samvel Karapetyan

The Commission for the Prevention of Corruption has opened a case against Russian businessman Samvel Karapetyan, leader of the Strong Armenia party.

The Commission for the Prevention of Corruption reported this to the media, verelq reports.

The leader of the Strong Armenia party did not submit a declaration of income and property.

Previously, several criminal cases were opened against Karapetyan in Armenia. Thus, in 2025, the businessman was accused of public calls for the seizure of power (part 2 of article 422 of the Criminal Code of Armenia).

In January, he was also charged in cases of non-payment of taxes on an especially large scale and money laundering.
