Gagik Tsarukyan was not allowed to leave Armenia, criminal case opened against him

Leader of the Prosperous Armenia party Gagik Tsarukyan today tried to leave Armenia through Zvartnots airport, Armenian Telegram channels report.

It is noted that law enforcement agencies prevented Tsarukyan from leaving.

At the same time, Armenian media, citing the country's prosecutor general's office, report that "public criminal prosecution has been initiated against Tsarukyan" for evading taxes on an especially large scale.

As a preventive measure, he was prohibited from leaving the country.

The Prosperous Armenia party failed to overcome the electoral threshold in the parliamentary elections.
