HVG: In Hungary, a man hijacked a plane and directed it toward a nuclear power plant - VIDEO
A man in Hungary hijacked a Cessna-172 plane and entered the airspace over the Paks nuclear power plant.
As 1news.az reports, this was reported by the publication HVG.
According to its information, the man, born in 2002, hijacked the plane from an airfield in Kalocsa and directed the aircraft toward the Paks nuclear power plant. Hungarian Defense Minister Romulusz Ruszin-Szendi, whose words are cited by the publication, later said that the defense forces' radars immediately detected the plane, and a pair of fighter jets took to the air.
It is noted that flights are prohibited within a radius of 3 km from the power plant at altitudes of up to 6,000 m. As the publication reports, after the interception the plane crashed in a sunflower field near the village of Gerjen. The plane's landing gear broke off; firefighters and a rescue helicopter arrived at the scene. According to HVG, no one was injured as a result of the incident.
An investigation has been launched into the incident.
