Pashinyan heads to EAEU meeting
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has traveled to Kyrgyzstan for a meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council, the press service of the cabinet reports.
"Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has departed on a two-day working visit to the Kyrgyz Republic. In Cholpon-Ata, the prime minister will take part in the regular meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council," the statement says, Sputnik Armenia reports.
At the end of July, Pashinyan, referring to the Russian restrictions on the export of Armenian products, stated that if no solution is found, this will be the beginning of the end of the EAEU.
On the other hand, at the EAEU summit held in Astana on May 29, the leaders of the member countries of this union issued a joint statement, which, in particular, spoke of the need to hold a referendum in Armenia as soon as possible on joining the EU or remaining in the EAEU. Russian President Vladimir Putin, following the EAEU summit in Astana, stated that Armenia could lose 14% of its GDP if it withdraws from the EAEU.
According to statistical data, Armenia will lose almost 40% of its trade turnover if it withdraws from the Eurasian Economic Union.
