After scandalous statements about Azerbaijan, "Clarity of Understanding" has given up live broadcasts
The podcast "Clarity of Understanding" featuring Semyon Uralov, Ivan Knyazev, and Alexei Chadayev will no longer be broadcast live.
The project's authors announced this on social media. Episodes that have already been recorded will be published on Thursdays.
The decision followed scandalous remarks made by the podcast participants about Azerbaijan.
Now new episodes of "Clarity of Understanding" will be recorded in advance and then published on Thursdays.
As a reminder, on August 17 the Prosecutor General's Office of Azerbaijan put three Russian citizens on the wanted list — journalist Ivan Knyazev, political consultant Semyon Uralov, and journalist Alexei Chadayev. According to investigators, in broadcasts published on the internet they publicly called for violent actions against Azerbaijan, for changing the constitutional order, violating territorial integrity, inciting ethnic hatred, as well as for terrorism.
Subsequently, Russia's Ambassador to Azerbaijan Mikhail Yevdokimov was summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan.
During the meeting, serious concern and a firm protest were conveyed to the Russian side over the provocative, insulting, and threatening statements about Azerbaijan, its people, and its leadership that have recently been voiced in Russia's media space.
The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, stated that the remarks of the Russian citizens put on the wanted list in Azerbaijan have nothing to do with Moscow's position in bilateral relations with Baku. "The opinions of these private individuals cannot be regarded as reflecting the Kremlin's official line regarding Azerbaijan," Zakharova's statement said. The comment also notes that Moscow remains committed to constructive dialogue with Baku, and that the statements of those on the wanted list remain their personal position.
