Friedrich Merz's anti-record: German chancellor's approval rating drops to 16%

The level of dissatisfaction with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz and his government has reached a new record high.

As reported by Report citing the newspaper Bild, this is evidenced by the results of a fresh survey by the sociological institute INSA.

According to the survey data conducted on August 13–14 among 1,003 people, only 16% of respondents positively assess the chancellor's work, while 78% expressed their dissatisfaction (6% found it difficult to answer). The activities of the German government as a whole received an even lower rating: 79% of the study participants spoke negatively, and only 15% expressed approval.
