Iran shifts military policy from defensive to offensive
Iran has decided to change its military policy from defensive to fully offensive due to the lack of progress in negotiations with the United States on ending the war.
A senior Iranian official stated that diplomatic consultations on ending the conflict and resuming shipping through the Strait of Hormuz have reached a dead end. Tehran's authorities have instructed state and military structures to be ready for an escalation of tensions throughout the region.
The Iranian representative emphasized that if diplomatic efforts ultimately fail, Tehran will deliver a "timely and precise" military strike to break the U.S. naval blockade. August 17 was the deadline by which the parties were supposed to reach a final agreement under the memorandum of understanding signed on June 17.
