Baku rejects CNN World claims about Azerbaijan's involvement in Israel's operations against Iran
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan strongly rejects the claims reflected in an article published on June 5 on the website of the CNN World news channel alleging the use of Azerbaijan's territory for military or intelligence operations against Iran, as well as the alleged deployment of Israeli forces on the territory of Azerbaijan, as completely unfounded, and we strongly reject them.
This was stated by the head of the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Aykhan Hajizada:
"The claims contained in the mentioned article have been repeatedly refuted by Azerbaijan, and this position was officially presented to the editorial office in advance in response to CNN's request.
The publication of claims based on anonymous sources and not taking into account Azerbaijan's official position without providing any substantial evidence contradicts the principles of objectivity, impartiality, and professional ethics of journalism.
As has been repeatedly stated, claims about the use of Azerbaijan's territory for military operations, intelligence activities, or other hostile purposes against any third state have no basis. Our country has never allowed and will not allow such activities.
Azerbaijan is committed to promoting peace, stability, and good-neighborly relations in the region. Such unfounded claims lacking any evidence are yet another attempt at disinformation.
We expect CNN to retract this article, which disseminated unfounded claims."
