CIS countries agree on spending for joint air defense system for 2027

Participants in the 111th meeting of the CIS Economic Council in Ashgabat agreed on the issue of allocating funds for the creation and development of the joint air defense system of the CIS member states in 2027.

All 28 documents included in the agenda were signed by the participants of the meeting. A number of documents, including agreements related to air defense, were signed without separate discussion.

CIS Secretary General Sergei Lebedev told reporters that during the meeting the members of the Economic Council approved a plan of measures to implement the strategy for ensuring transport security on the territory of the Commonwealth countries during international shipments for 2026-2030.

The meeting was presented with information on obstacles to mutual trade in the CIS space and recommendations for their elimination, prepared on the basis of data from the member states on the special protective, anti-dumping and countervailing measures used, temporary bans, licensed and quota-restricted goods, as well as on the application by the parties of restrictions that hinder the development of mutual trade.
