Winners of the 83rd Venice Film Festival announced

The 83rd Venice Film Festival has concluded on the island of Lido.

The international jury headed by American actress and director Maggie Gyllenhaal summed up the results of the prestigious film forum and distributed the awards.

The festival's main prize, the Golden Lion for Best Film, went to the psychological drama "The Unknown Woman" by Danish director May el-Toukhy. The picture tells the complex postwar story of the maid Marie in Denmark in 1945. The leading actress Mathilde Arcel Fock also took home the Volpi Cup for Best Actress.

The Grand Jury Prize was awarded to the melodrama "Possible Love" by South Korean director Lee Chang-dong. Earlier, this film also took the prestigious award from the international film critics FIPRESCI.
