Foreign ministers of Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan discuss development of cooperation
A meeting was held between Azerbaijan's Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov and Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov.
According to Azerbaijan's Foreign Ministry, the sides discussed the current state and prospects for the development of bilateral relations based on friendship, brotherhood, and mutual respect during the negotiations. It was noted that mutual high-level visits and political dialogue play an important role in expanding cooperation between the two countries.
The ministers exchanged views on the development of cooperation in trade and economic, energy, transport and transit, logistics, shipping, humanitarian, and cultural spheres. Special attention was paid to strengthening regional connectivity and the effective use of the potential of the Middle Corridor.
The sides also discussed cooperation within international and regional organizations, emphasizing the importance of continuing mutual support at the UN and other multilateral structures.
Other issues on the regional and international agenda of mutual interest were also touched upon during the meeting. The sides confirmed their intention to continue joint efforts to further develop Azerbaijani-Turkmen relations in the spirit of strategic partnership and mutual benefit.
