Mukhtar Babayev meets with UN secretary-general in London - PHOTO
Azerbaijan's presidential representative on climate issues Mukhtar Babayev held a meeting in London with UN Secretary-General António Guterres.
M. Babayev wrote about this on his account on the social network X.
“Pleased to meet with UN Secretary-General António Guterres on the margins of London Climate Action Week,” he noted.
According to Babayev, the negotiations discussed the implementation of agreements reached at COP29, held in Baku in 2024, as well as preparations for COP31, which will take place in Turkey.
He also reported that the parties exchanged views on accelerating the reduction of methane emissions, expanding climate finance, and strengthening international cooperation for the practical implementation of climate commitments.
