Typhoon Dolphin hits eastern China: more than a million people evacuated - VIDEO
Typhoon Dolphin made landfall on China's eastern coast in the area of Zhejiang province, as a result of which the number of evacuated residents exceeded 1 million people.
As CBC News reports, citing the meteorological services of the PRC, the epicenter of the storm, with wind speeds of up to 151 km/h, came ashore in the area of Yuhuan county. The country has declared the highest, "red" level of danger. Hundreds of temporary accommodation centers have been set up in Wenzhou and neighboring provinces.
The region's transport infrastructure has been paralyzed: about 1,500 flights have been canceled at Shanghai's two airports, dozens of sea ferries have been halted, and work has been frozen at hundreds of construction sites. Forecasters warn of a high threat of landslides and flooding, as the typhoon is moving inland, bringing heavy rains with it.
