Trump believes Iran's worsening economy will push Tehran toward agreements
U.S. President Donald Trump stated that the economic situation in Iran is deteriorating and expressed confidence that agreements with Tehran will be reached.
As 1news.az reports, he said this in an interview with the Axios portal.
"We are acting without noise," Trump said, speaking about Washington's further steps regarding Iran.
According to the American leader, the United States is only partially conducting negotiations with Tehran and is currently observing the situation in Iran, where, in his assessment, inflation is high and there is not enough money.
Trump noted that Iran is "in very bad shape" from an economic point of view. In his opinion, one of the reasons for this is the U.S. naval blockade of Iran.
As Axios notes, citing American officials, just a week ago Trump was inclined to resume large-scale military action against Iran, but he was subsequently persuaded to de-escalate.
"It will all work out. It always works out. It's like a chess game," Trump said, assessing the prospects of reaching an agreement with Iran.
