Hikmet Hajiyev: Azerbaijan fully ready to share its experience in post-conflict recovery and reconstruction

“More than 85,000 Azerbaijanis have returned to the Garabagh and East Zangezur regions and are currently living, working, studying, and building new lives in these territories. Every person has the right to housing, and the process of rebuilding these regions continues at a rapid pace,” said Hikmet Hajiyev, Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan and Head of the Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration, during his speech at the panel session titled “Housing at the Centre of Global Coalitions.”

According to him, Azerbaijan is fully ready both to learn from the best practices of other countries and to share with the international community its unique experience gained in the field of post-conflict recovery and reconstruction, as well as the challenges it has faced. “It is with this understanding that our country is one of the most suitable venues to host the World Urban Forum,” he said.

“At a time when new wars and conflicts are breaking out in various parts of the world, including our region, and cities and human settlements are being destroyed before our eyes, Azerbaijan is ready both to learn and to share its realities and experience with the world under these tragic conditions for humanity,” the Assistant to the President emphasized.
