Nigeria's president intends to rename the country?
Nigerian President Bola Tinubu is not going to rename the country to the United States of Nigeria.
The information was denied by the administration of the head of state.
"The presidential administration informs Nigerians about the falsity of viral false messages with claims that President Tinubu is seeking constitutional changes to change Nigeria's name to the United States of Nigeria," the statement said.
It is noted that the Nigerian leader also does not intend to repeal Sharia laws for the northern regions of the country, where the Muslim majority lives. The administration called on people not to pay attention to such rumors.
