Armenian foreign minister rejects connection between Rubio visit and elections in republic

The upcoming May 26 visit to Yerevan by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio is not connected with the parliamentary elections planned for June 7 in Armenia.

This was stated by Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan.

"How can the visit of US Secretary of State Marco Rubio be connected with the elections? What does it have to do with the elections?" Mirzoyan asked.

He declined to answer the question about what topics are included in the agenda of the secretary of state's visit and what documents will be signed as part of it.

It was previously reported that as part of Rubio's visit, his meeting with Mirzoyan will take place, after which the heads of the foreign policy departments of the two countries will speak to the press.

Signing of bilateral documents is also planned.

Then the Armenian minister will give a press conference.
