North Korea launches unidentified projectile toward Yellow Sea
North Korea carried out the launch of an unidentified projectile toward the Yellow Sea.
This is reported by Yonhap citing the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Korea.
According to South Korean military data, analysis of the flight parameters and other data related to the launch is currently underway in Seoul. Additional details have not been disclosed yet.
Earlier, in April, the armed forces of South Korea reported the launch of several short-range ballistic missiles from the area of the city of Sinpho toward the Sea of Japan.
After that, Japan expressed protest to North Korea in connection with the missile tests. In Tokyo, they stated that such actions pose a threat to the security of Japan, the region, and the international community.
In turn, the U.S. Indo-Pacific Command of the Armed Forces stated that the launch of North Korean ballistic missiles did not pose an immediate threat to the United States and its allies.
