Strategy of D-8 media excellence center presented within Shusha global media forum
On July 13, within the framework of the IV Shusha Global Media Forum, the strategy of the D-8 Media Excellence Center was presented.
As AZERTAC reports, before the start of the presentation, Assistant to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Head of the Foreign Policy Department of the Presidential Administration Hikmet Hajiyev noted that Azerbaijan is a full-fledged member of the D-8 family.
"This platform is of great importance in terms of global economic cooperation, and we attach special importance to the activities of the organization. President Ilham Aliyev positively received the initiative to establish the D-8 Media Excellence Center in Azerbaijan, as well as Centers of Excellence in the fields of transport and energy. Today we are already seeing the first results of the implementation of this initiative," he emphasized.
The Assistant to the President noted that the D-8 Media Excellence Center will become an important platform for expanding cooperation between member states in the media sphere.
D-8 Organization Secretary General Sohail Mahmood expressed gratitude to all D-8 member states for their contribution to the implementation of this initiative. According to him, since the organization was founded in 1997, the world has undergone cardinal changes.
"The era of unipolarity is in the past. Today we are witnessing a steady movement toward a multipolar world order. Under these conditions, the mission of D-8 as an organization of economic cooperation is acquiring new significance. At the same time, the potential of the member states has increased significantly," he said.
Director General of the Media Excellence Network Fuad Mardiyev presented in detail the strategy of the D-8 Media Excellence Center. He reported that the main goal of the Center is to strengthen cooperation between member states in the media sphere, promote the development of professional potential, advance research and innovation, and form a unified platform for interaction in the media field.
During the presentation, information was provided on planned activities for the institutional development of the Center, expansion of international cooperation, creation of coordination mechanisms between member states, exchange of experience, conduct of media research, and countering disinformation.
It was noted that the next stage of activity envisages the creation of a cooperation network uniting media organizations of D-8 member states, implementation of joint projects, expansion of partnership with international organizations, and exchange of best practices in the media sphere.
