Azerbaijan and FAO discuss strengthening climate action - PHOTO
Azerbaijan and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) have discussed expanding cooperation in the field of climate action.
This was stated by the Azerbaijani President's Representative on Climate Issues, Mukhtar Babayev, in a post on the social network X following a meeting with Viorel Gutu, Assistant Director-General of FAO and Regional Representative for Europe and Central Asia.
The sides discussed adaptation to climate change and emissions reduction in agriculture, sustainable water resources management, and the development of more resilient food systems.
"We also exchanged views on turning climate commitments into practical solutions that strengthen food security, reduce food loss and waste, and promote sustainable development," Mukhtar Babayev noted.
It was a pleasure to meet with @ViorelGutu, Assistant Director-General of FAO and Regional Representative for Europe and Central Asia.
