Pashinyan threatens to seize Tsarukyan's mansion following cement plant
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan threatened to seize the mansion of Prosperous Armenia leader Gagik Tsarukyan.
"Let's start returning Gagik Tsarukyan's houses to the people. And I tell you: by 2031, Tsarukyan's mansion, built on the mountain, must become a center for elderly care," Pashinyan said during campaign events in Shirak Province.
The leader of the Civil Contract noted that this would happen in exactly the same way as with the house of Karapet Guloyan (Tsarukyan's son-in-law – ed.), which was returned to the state.
Earlier, Pashinyan stated that the Ararat Cement Plant (owned by Gagik Tsarukyan) would soon become state property.
In April, the Armenian Prosecutor General's Office reported that it would confiscate about $3.4 million from former Kotayk Province Governor Karapet Guloyan, as well as from his wife Roza Tsarukyan, daughter of businessman and Prosperous Armenia party leader Gagik Tsarukyan, as "property of illegal origin."
Parliamentary elections in Armenia will be held on June 7. Seventeen parties and 2 blocs will take part.
