Leila Aliyeva visits Juma Mosque in Masally - photo
Vice President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, founder and head of the IDEA Public Union Leila Aliyeva made a trip to the Masally district.
As AZERTAC reports, during the trip Leila Aliyeva visited one of the historical and religious-cultural monuments of the district – the Juma Mosque, where she thoroughly familiarized herself with the history and architectural features of the mosque.
It was noted that the Juma Mosque, located in the center of Masally city, was built in 1846 with the financial support of the city's residents and local benefactors. During the years of independence, the mosque was restored and began functioning again as a place of worship. The mosque, which was overhauled by the state in subsequent years, was included in the list of immovable historical and cultural monuments of local significance in 2001.
In conclusion, Leila Aliyeva was presented with a gift of the holy Quran.
