Putin states need to strengthen work of special services of CIS countries
President Vladimir Putin stated the need to make maximum use of the capabilities of the security agencies and special services of the CIS countries for reliable protection of the Commonwealth from potential internal and external threats.
As RIA Novosti reports, the greeting of the head of state at the opening of the 58th meeting of the Council of Heads of Security Bodies and Special Services of the CIS Countries (SOR B) was read by his representative in the Siberian Federal District Anatoly Seryshev.
In his address Putin noted that the military-political situation in the world has significantly complicated, and new centers of instability have emerged, including near the borders of the CIS countries. In this regard he emphasized the need for more active use of analytical, personnel, operational and technical resources of the relevant structures, as well as strengthening information exchange and developing unified approaches to solving common tasks.
The president expressed confidence that the results of the meeting will contribute to strengthening security and sustainable development of the states and peoples of the CIS.
