Pakistan rejects Trump's proposal to normalize relations with Israel

Pakistan rejected a proposal by U.S. President Donald Trump to join the Abraham Accords, which envision normalizing relations with Israel.

This is reported by Reuters.

According to the agency, Trump appealed to a number of countries, including Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Pakistan, Turkey, Egypt and Jordan, calling on them to join the accords amid efforts to achieve a ceasefire in the conflict with Iran.

However, Pakistan became the only country to publicly reject the initiative. The other states have not yet given an official response, although Reuters notes that the likelihood of their agreement is assessed as low against the backdrop of public sentiment and the situation in the Gaza Strip.

A source cited by the agency stated: "Pakistan is not obliged to fulfill any such demand."
