Strategic choice of Armenia is important for Russia Peskov

Yerevan is now in the process of choosing its path of development; this is important for Moscow, since Russia and Armenia are brotherly countries.

This was stated by the press secretary of the president of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov.

"We see that now Armenia, the leadership of Armenia is at a crossroads. The leadership of Armenia speaks of the upcoming choice of the path of development. For us this is important, because for many centuries Russia and Armenia were neighboring countries, brotherly countries," Peskov said.

As the press secretary of the Russian leader noted, the EAEU as a choice of an integration association for Armenia surpasses other options.

"We are convinced that this integration process, namely the EAEU, annually gives a considerable percentage to GDP growth in Armenia. And we are convinced that in all its qualitative characteristics our integration process significantly surpasses other alternatives," Peskov said.

He expressed hope that the Armenian people and the current leadership of the republic, based on the analysis of the situation, will come to the same point of view.

"We are interested in this, we will conduct our relations with Armenia. We have many common affairs. We [Russia] are a serious investor in Armenia. Therefore, there are many things to do, and relations will continue to develop," the press secretary of the Russian leader said.
