Number of earthquake victims in Venezuela exceeds 4,700
The number of those killed as a result of the powerful earthquake in Venezuela has reached 4,734 people.
This was reported by the chairman of the country's National Assembly, Jorge Rodriguez, in his Telegram channel.
According to the government summary provided by the politician, 16,740 people received various injuries, and another 17,907 residents were left without housing. The disaster completely destroyed 190 buildings, and another 856 structures received serious damage. During search and rescue operations, 6,462 people were saved.
Medical assistance was provided to 33,652 victims. In addition, the authorities provided support to 128,324 families, and 20,903 people were placed in 107 temporary accommodation points. Also, more than 10 thousand tons of food were transferred to the victims.
