Non-oil and gas exports nearly doubled in Azerbaijan

As 1news.az reports, this was stated by Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov during his speech at the II Azerbaijan International Investment Forum (AIIF 2026) in Baku.

The minister noted that by 2030 the share of the non-oil and gas sector in Azerbaijan’s GDP is expected to increase to 82%.

“Last year, Azerbaijan’s non-oil and gas economy accounted for 71% of GDP. In 2021–2025, real growth in the non-oil and gas sector averaged 6% per year. During this period, non-oil industry grew by 50%, and non-oil and gas exports nearly doubled,” M. Jabbarov stated.

According to him, the main priority is the transition from transport corridors to economic ones, as well as the transformation of Azerbaijan’s economy into a diversified, export-oriented model led by the private sector.

Touching upon transit and logistics potential, the minister emphasized that Azerbaijan has turned into an international transport hub.

“According to World Bank estimates, the right investments and efficiency measures could triple trade flows along the Middle Corridor by 2030 and halve delivery times,” the minister noted.

M. Jabbarov stated that Azerbaijan’s main goal is to ensure that the routes passing through the country’s territory are not only safe but also competitive in terms of cost and time.
