Trump refuses to wear a bulletproof vest to avoid looking fat
American leader Donald Trump has stated that he does not want to wear a bulletproof vest, despite assassination attempts on his life.
His words were reported by Fox News.
The American president is concerned that wearing a bulletproof vest might make him look heavier.
"I don't know if I can handle it if I look 20 pounds [9 kilograms] heavier," Trump told journalists in response to a related question.
Trump survived another assassination attempt over the past weekend. On April 25, at the Washington Hilton hotel, where a reception for the White House Correspondents' Association was being held, gunfire broke out. The American leader and all administration representatives present at the event were evacuated, and the attacker was apprehended.
