Pashinyan calls on Armenians to forget about Van, Karabakh and Nakhchivan

The Armenian people must abandon the psychology of a temporary stop and perceive the Republic of Armenia as their homeland and refuge.

Armenian Prime Minister and chairman of the Civil Contract party council Nikol Pashinyan stated this, according to Armenpress.

“We must finally record that the process of searching for a homeland is complete. We have found our homeland, and it is the Republic of Armenia,” the prime minister said.

According to him, if the idea of returning to previous places of residence continues to live in people’s subconscious, then the Republic of Armenia will be perceived not as a homeland but as a temporary stop. “If the thought of the need to return to Van, Mush, Karabakh, Nakhchivan is constantly present in our subconscious, we begin to perceive our country as a transit point,” he noted.

Pashinyan compared this to the feeling of stopping on the way, when a person cannot fully rest or feel safe. “The essence of today’s political process is that we are changing the perception of the Republic of Armenia from a stop to a destination. We have arrived, people,” the prime minister said.

He also addressed Karabakh Armenians, noting that they also need to change their perception of a stop and settle in Armenia. “Now they have come here, and we want these people to settle, as we have settled, so that they change their perception from a stop to a destination,” Pashinyan said.
