Chief of Pakistan armed forces general staff to arrive in Tehran to deliver message
Chief of the Pakistan Army Staff Asim Munir will arrive in Tehran to deliver a message to representatives of the Iranian authorities regarding the negotiation process to resolve the situation in the Persian Gulf zone.
This was announced by member of the National Security Committee of the Majlis (parliament) of the Islamic Republic Fida Hussain Maliki.
"Chief of the Pakistan Army Staff [Asim] Munir is arriving in Tehran today to deliver a special message to Iranian officials," the Iranian lawmaker said, quoted by Al Mayadeen television. Details of the message were not disclosed.
On May 18, Pakistani Interior Minister Mohsin Raza Naqvi, representing the mediating country in the dialogue between Iran and the United States, completed a visit to Tehran, where for several days he discussed the Iranian side's position with senior government officials. His final meeting before departing for Islamabad was with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi. As Al Arabiya television noted, Naqvi "informed all interested parties" about the results of his negotiations in Iran.
