US allowed entry of Americans from Ebola-affected countries through one airport

US authorities have allowed their citizens returning from the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), Uganda and South Sudan to enter the country only through Washington Dulles International Airport.

This is stated in a State Department statement.

"All US citizens and persons eligible for permanent residence in the country traveling to the US from the DRC, Uganda or South Sudan <...> will have to enter the country only through Washington Dulles International Airport for enhanced screening," the text notes.

This decision was made to prevent the spread of Ebola fever on American territory.

Earlier, an Air France plane with a passenger from the DRC was not allowed into the US in connection with an Ebola outbreak in this African country. On May 18, US authorities temporarily restricted the entry of foreigners who were in countries where cases of this fever were recorded.
