Fraud suspect to be extradited from Ukraine to Azerbaijan
As a result of negotiations held following a request from the Prosecutor General's Office of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine and the submission of the necessary documents in accordance with international procedures, an agreement has been reached on the extradition of Azerbaijani citizen Shahlar Jabbarov to Azerbaijan.
As the Prosecutor General's Office of Azerbaijan reports, in a criminal case under preliminary investigation by the Nasimi District Police Department, Sh. Jabbarov is accused of repeatedly committing fraud causing major damage.
For this reason, a decision was made to charge Sh. Jabbarov under the relevant articles of the Criminal Code. Since he had fled from the investigation, an international wanted notice was issued for him through the National Central Bureau of Interpol in Baku. As a result of operational-search measures, he was located and detained in Ukraine.
Currently, the Penitentiary Service of the Ministry of Justice is taking measures to deliver Sh. Jabbarov to Azerbaijan.
