Number of confirmed Ebola cases grows in DR Congo
The number of confirmed Ebola infection cases in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) has increased to 321.
This was reported by the Reuters news agency.
On Friday, the WHO reported 906 suspected cases of Ebola in DR Congo. On Sunday evening, the country's government stated that the number of confirmed cases had increased to 282.
Reuters also reported that the global health organization CEPI will allocate about $60 million to Moderna, as well as to two other groups, to accelerate the development of vaccines against the Ebola-Bundibugyo virus, which has spread in the eastern part of DR Congo.
The Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations was one of the first investors to help develop the vaccine during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, the agency notes.
