Azerbaijan national futsal team reaches European Championship semifinals, which is taking place in Bratislava.
In the quarterfinals our team defeated Czechia 5:2. Eshgin Tagiev scored twice for the Azerbaijani national team, while Tamkin Khalilzade, Ramiz Chovdarov and Magomed Khalilov each found the net once.
In the semifinals Azerbaijan will play against Serbia. The match starts today at 22:45 Baku time. In the other semifinal Hungary will face Ukraine.
Recall that Elshad Guliyev's charges defeated Austria (1:0), Italy (3:0) and France (3:2) in the group stage, and beat Kazakhstan (3:2) in the round of 16.
The next opponent - Serbia - is the current European champion. In the group stage the Serbs defeated Turkey (2:1) and Belgium (2:1), and also drew with Ukraine. In the playoffs Serbia beat Greece (4:2) and Romania (6:4).
The Azerbaijan national team became European champion in 2022. The tournament was also held in Slovakia at that time.
