Baku calls on Israel to reconsider decision on so-called 'Armenian genocide'
The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry has expressed its position regarding the Israeli government's decision on the so-called "Armenian genocide."
The commentary of the Azerbaijani foreign policy agency notes that the Israeli government's decision on the so-called "Armenian genocide" causes serious concern.
"Distortion of historical facts related to the events of 1915, as well as turning complex historical processes into a subject of political decisions in a form far from legal and scientific basis, is unacceptable.
Such steps do not contribute to reconciliation and mutual understanding; on the contrary, they serve to deepen existing contradictions and hinder efforts to achieve lasting peace and reconciliation in the region.
We call on the Israeli government to reconsider the adopted decision.
Azerbaijan will continue to consistently adhere to its position aimed at protecting historical truth, respecting the principles of international law, and promoting the establishment of lasting peace in the region," the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry emphasizes.
