Vance: US resorts to carrot and stick method to resolve disagreements with Iran

Washington is resorting to the carrot and stick method in the process of resolving disagreements with Iran. This was stated by US Vice President JD Vance.

"The Iranians have not struck ships in the last couple of weeks, oil is passing through the Strait of Hormuz partly thanks to the fact that President [US Donald Trump] has made it clear that if the Iranians strike ships, we will attack in response. Sometimes in this matter it is necessary to resort to the carrot and stick," he said in an interview with Fox News.

Vance noted that the US sees both "positive signals and negative ones" from Iran during negotiations. He expressed hope that the diplomatic efforts of the parties will be successful. "The president told us: 'Work on the problem, see where the negotiations lead, and if diplomatic methods do not lead to a successful resolution [of the conflict], we still have many options [of actions], and we have still achieved a lot for American citizens," added the American vice president.
