Trump: I think the truce with Iran has ended
I think the truce with Iran has ended, U.S. President Donald Trump said today, on the second day of the 36th summit of heads of state and government of NATO, taking place in Ankara.
"Last night we delivered a powerful strike on Iran. They will not be able to possess nuclear weapons. I think the truce with Iran has ended," he said.
Trump stated that the U.S. strikes carried out last night "were effective."
He also reported that after the strikes the U.S. held contacts with Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and a number of other countries.
Criticizing NATO over issues concerning Iran and Greenland, the American president said: "I am dissatisfied with NATO."
According to Trump, he did not see from the allies the support he had expected on the Iran issue.
Separately, the U.S. president sharply criticized Spain: "I do not even want to trade with Spain, I will end contacts with them. Spain is a very bad partner, we do not want to continue relations with them."
Commenting on the distribution of obligations within NATO, Trump said: "We give everything we have, while other countries give nothing. Everyone takes on their share of responsibility, except Spain."
