President Ilham Aliyev familiarizes himself with work done in Kichik Galaderesi village of Shusha district, meets with returning residents

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev on July 11 familiarized himself with the work on the restoration of private houses and infrastructure in the village of Kichik Galaderesi of Shusha district and met with residents who had returned to the village.

As AZERTAC reports, Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Shusha district Aydin Kerimov informed the head of state about the work carried out in the village.

It was reported that there are 66 private houses in Kichik Galaderesi. 19 of them are unfit for living, and 47 are partially suitable. 26 of these houses are already ready for operation. And next year 21 houses will be ready. At the initial stage, 15 families (51 people) returned to the village. By the end of this year, another 11 families (45 people) will return.

A number of works have been carried out in the village to create social infrastructure. New gas and water pipelines have been laid, an artesian well has been restored, 26 private houses are currently connected to the water network, a transformer substation has been installed, and overhead power lines have been restored. A park and a Flag Square have been laid out for the residents' recreation, and intra-village roads have been asphalted.

It should be noted that Kichik Galaderesi is part of the administrative-territorial unit of Galaderesi village of Shusha district and is located 40 kilometers southwest of the district center. The village was occupied by the Armenian armed forces in 1992. The occupation of the village was ended in 2023 as a result of the anti-terrorist operation.

Before the occupation, the villagers were mainly engaged in animal husbandry, vegetable growing, and beekeeping. The village had a secondary school, a kindergarten, a house of culture, a library, a medical center, and a communications office.

The head of state visited the house of village resident Asad Asadov.

Then President Ilham Aliyev met with the residents who had returned to the village.
