Petition to exclude Argentina from 2026 World Cup signed by more than 3 million people
A petition demanding the exclusion of the Argentina national team from the 2026 World Cup has appeared online.
According to the authors of the initiative on the website argentinaout.com, the appeal has already collected more than 3 million signatures.
The creators of the petition claim that FIFA and the referees are allegedly showing bias towards the current world champions and the team captain Lionel Messi. “It is obvious that FIFA and the referees are biased towards Lionel Messi and the Argentina national team. Why should other teams participate if the winner is already known? Exclude Argentina and give everyone else a fair chance,” the appeal states.
In the quarterfinal of the World Cup, Argentina defeated Switzerland with a score of 3:1. In the semifinal, the team will play against England, and in the other match for reaching the final, France and Spain will meet.
