Media: Azerbaijan and Slovakia are negotiating gas supplies
Negotiations on concluding long-term contracts for gas supplies to Slovakia from Azerbaijan are being conducted during the visit of Slovak President Peter Pellegrini to the country.
This was reported by the TASR news agency.
"Slovakia from October 2027 should stop importing Russian gas. Therefore, during the ongoing visit [of Pellegrini] to Azerbaijan, representatives of Slovakia are trying to agree on [concluding] favorable long-term contracts for the purchase of this type of energy raw material," the message says.
Pellegrini, as the agency noted, expressed gratitude to Azerbaijan for providing Slovakia with part of its gas reserves after Ukraine stopped supplies of Russian gas to his republic. "I am very pleased that our ministers will be able to continue negotiations on finding a stable solution for energy supplies to Slovakia after 2027," the head of the Slovak state said.
