Zelensky sends Syrsky into retirement and appoints new commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine

Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrsky has been dismissed from his position.

Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky announced this in an address on his Telegram channel.

"Mikhail Drapatyi will become the new Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine... I am grateful to Oleksandr Syrsky and each of our warriors for Ukraine's strong frontline positions. Today we spoke with Syrsky and Andriy Hnatov about further formats of service and the proper transfer of affairs," he said.
