Lavrov and Rubio held talks in Manila
Negotiations between Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio took place in the Philippine capital Manila; the meeting lasted 35 minutes.
According to the U.S. secretary of state's schedule, about half an hour was allocated in his timetable for the meeting with the Russian minister.
No other details have been reported yet.
Earlier, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova stated that the American side initiated the meeting, while the Russian side accepted the proposal. This was already the fourth personal meeting between Lavrov and Rubio.
The last time the heads of the foreign affairs agencies of Russia and the United States met was in New York at the end of September last year.
