EU receives another €1.4 billion from Russia's assets and promises to hand it over to Ukraine
The European Union has received another €1.4 billion in windfall profits generated from frozen Russian assets, the press service of the European Commission reports.
"The receipt of this sum was the fifth such transfer following the fourth tranche provided in March 2026. It covers the revenues accumulated in the first half of 2026. Since their immobilization, Russian assets have generated a total of €8 billion in windfall profits," the statement said.
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen promised to transfer the funds received to Ukraine.
