Media: Iran still barring IAEA inspectors from nuclear facilities

Iran is still not granting inspectors of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) access to its nuclear facilities.

This is stated in the organization's report obtained by the Bloomberg agency.

According to the document, inspectors have still not received access to the facilities in Isfahan, Natanz, and Fordow, which were damaged as a result of the Israeli-American strikes. It is noted that the last time the IAEA recorded more than 440 kg of highly enriched uranium and nearly 8,600 kg of uranium of a lower degree of enrichment at the aforementioned facilities.

The text indicates that the lack of information about this nuclear material is a source of concern for IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi from the standpoint of nonproliferation. In this connection, he called on Tehran to provide inspectors with access to the facilities as soon as possible. At the same time, as noted in the report, in mid-September inspectors are due to receive access to the nuclear power plant in Bushehr.

Bloomberg specifies that the IAEA Board of Governors will consider the situation surrounding the Iranian nuclear program next week.
