CENTCOM reports seizure of 28 vessels linked to Iran since start of blockade
Since the start of the blockade, U.S. Navy ships have seized 28 merchant vessels entering and exiting Iranian ports.
This was reported by the U.S. Central Command in the Middle East (CENTCOM). "Since the beginning of the American blockade of vessels entering or exiting Iranian ports, U.S. forces have ordered 28 vessels to turn around and return to port," the statement published on X reads.
Earlier, CENTCOM reported that on April 19, in an attempt to break through the American blockade, U.S. naval forces attacked and seized the Iranian cargo ship Touska in the Gulf of Oman after the ship's crew disobeyed orders from U.S. forces. The U.S. began the blockade of Iranian ports on April 13.
