In Moscow, on May 9, mobile internet will be temporarily completely restricted, including SMS, for the Victory Day events, the Ministry of Digital Development reported.
“To ensure the safety of the Victory Day celebrations on May 9, access to mobile internet—including the 'white list' of websites—and SMS messaging services in Moscow will be temporarily restricted,” the ministry added.
The Ministry of Digital Development separately noted that “home internet and Wi-Fi will continue to operate normally without restrictions.”
Earlier, all of Russia’s “big four” mobile operators warned of possible mobile internet and SMS outages from May 5 to May 9 in Moscow and the Moscow region due to security measures for the preparation and conduct of festive events.
