Pezeshkian meets with Iran's supreme leader Mojtaba Khamenei
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian announced that he recently held a meeting with the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic, Mojtaba Khamenei.
"Pezeshkian stated that the meeting took place in a relaxed atmosphere, and the discussions lasted nearly two and a half hours," the president's press service reported.
This is the first official report of a personal meeting between Khamenei and Pezeshkian. On March 12, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei reported that the Supreme Leader had been injured as a result of strikes by the United States and Israel.
Since the start of hostilities, Mojtaba Khamenei has not appeared in public, and all his statements have been published in written form or read by announcers.
