Daily precipitation record broken in Moscow
Precipitation record for May 17, which had stood since 1904, was broken in Moscow.
Synoptician Evgeny Tishkovets reported this on his Telegram channel.
"As a result of the heavy rains that passed, 34 mm of precipitation fell into the rain gauge of the reference Moscow weather station VDNKh over the past day, or 55% of the monthly norm (28 mm - 17.05 and another 6 mm overnight 18.05). In addition, yesterday the daily precipitation record for May 17 was broken, which had been held since 1904 with a value of 21.1 mm," Tishkovets wrote.
He noted that a lot of precipitation was recorded at the weather stations Dolgoprudny (25 mm), Nemchinovka and Novo-Ierusalim (19 mm), Klin (18 mm), Shakhovskaya (17 mm). No precipitation is forecast for the next two days.
