Media: US spending on operations against Iran exceeded 85 billion dollars
US spending on the military operation in Iran exceeded $85 billion over 79 days of combat operations, the Iran War Cost Tracker portal reported.
The portal's real-time counter is based on a Pentagon briefing to the US Congress on March 10, which claimed that Washington spent $11.3 billion in the first six days of combat operations in the Middle East and plans to spend an additional $1 billion for each subsequent day of the conflict.
The amount of spending for these purposes, according to the resource, is almost three times higher than previously named by Acting Deputy US Secretary of Defense for Finance Jules Hurst. At hearings in the House Appropriations Committee of Congress, he stated that Washington spent about $29 billion on the military operation against Iran.
