IRGC threatens to expand war in case of new US attack on Iran
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC, elite units of the Iranian Armed Forces) stated that in the event of a repeated attack by the United States and Israel on the Islamic Republic, the combat zone will be expanded and will extend beyond the Middle Eastern region.
"If the aggression against Iran is repeated, then the regional war that was warned about will this time go far beyond the region, and our crushing strikes in places that you cannot even imagine will inflict a crushing defeat on you," the Fars agency quotes a fragment of the statement. The IRGC noted that during previous armed clashes, the Iranian Armed Forces did not use their full potential.
Earlier, US President Donald Trump stated that he had abandoned the planned US strike on Iran on May 19 at the request of Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE, who believe it is possible to reach agreements with Tehran that include its renunciation of nuclear weapons. In turn, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei assured that the armed forces of the Islamic Republic are ready for any scenario of events and are determined to present the enemy with "new surprises."
